“A Deep Time Walk is a transformative journey through 4.6bn years of Earth history via an interactive 4.6km narrated walk. It is an invitation to view the world differently, encouraging positive action and advocacy for a regenerative Earth. My vision is to create an ensemble of geographically specific and culturally nuanced Deep Time Walks, providing a unique intercultural platform that helps bring about a flourishing ecological civilisation.“
Earlier in the year I discovered the idea of a Deep Time Walk in the book I was reading – The Way Home by Mark Boyle. I loved the idea of it so much that I have decided to run one myself.
When: The walk will take place on Sunday 27th June starting at 11am
Where: The walk will take place around Holcombe Hill in Bury. The meeting point is to be confirmed – it will be easily accessible by public transport.
Who is the walk suitable for: Anybody aged 12 and upwards with a reasonable level of fitness who is interested to think more about the history of our planet.
What do I need to know about the walk? It is 4.6km and will cover rough and hilly ground in places. It will take about 2 hours to complete.
How much does it cost to join? I am asking the participants on the walk to be my guinea pigs so there is no charge.
How do I book a place? Email info@smallthings.org.uk to book, letting me know how many people will be joining.
I hope you can join me!
